One of the lesser known characters from the classic trilogy is without a doubt AV-6R7. The V-Supervisor droid debuted in the Visual Dictionary from DK and so far this has been its only appearance in a sourcebook.
The V-series Supervisor was the successor to the failed EV-series Supervisor of MerenData. It was more directed towards the military, but wasn't considered to be successful either.
In the Visual Dictionary, AV's torso is pictured without the arms. The book explained that the droid was deprived of its arms after failing to keep track of a Power Droid while supervising work droids for Death Star II.

When I first saw the picture in the Visual Dictionary, I was really surprised because I never remembered this droid from the movie. A few months ago, after many years, I have been able to track the elusive droid in 'Return of the Jedi'. It seems that it even got his arms back and got an important task aboard the bridge of the Executor. It probably exploded when Arvel Crynyd crashed with his A-Wing at the Executor's bridge.
